Summer is over (booo) but the holidays are literally already here!  We know how stressful it can be to plan a full menu that everyone likes, so we’ve decided to bring you five of our favourite awesomely cozy comfort food recipes! 

From appetizers to dessert including main dishes and sides these 5 recipes are easy, delicious, and will guarantee mouth-watering success with hungry friends and family members. 

Cheesy 4 Cheese Mac and Cheese Honey Pepper Chicken

This is cheesy - in all the right ways! It’s the ultimate, ultra creamy and savory homemade 4 cheese mac and cheese is topped with incredibly crunchy buttermilk fried chicken tenders, glazed with a lip-smacking honey pepper sauce.  A mouthful to say, but once you try one bite, you’ll be too busy chowing down to worry about the name! We tried it with our very own Elias Honey Raspberry Honey, which added a touch of brightness with its citrusy and juicy berry notes, making it the perfectly sweet addition to this supreme dish.

 

Slow Cooker Honey Glazed Ham

This slow cooker honey glazed ham recipe is probably one of the easiest things you'll make - you can literally set it… and forget it!  

For this type of dish, we want to highlight the taste of the meat, and make sure that the glaze is not too overpoweringly sweet - for that reason, we recommend using Elias Honey Wildflower Blossom or Elias Alfalfa-Clover Honey to add a light, sweet and fresh taste, which will complement the fattiness of the meat with the saltiness of the other seasonings. 

Other honeys, which sometimes contain high water content or other sweeteners fade into the meat, but using our 100% pure Canadian honey will leave a beautifully bright, glistening glaze!


Honey Garlic Butter Roasted Carrots Recipe

Honey. Garlic. Salt. Butter. These are definitely the pleasure centers for a great side dish! And therefore, we present this delicious and  easy Honey Garlic Butter Roasted Carrots Recipe. 

 We made it using Elias Cold Pressed Buckwheat Honey, which gave it a sparkly glaze and a rich, burnt toffee-like taste. It’s definitely a unique flavour that complements any roasted vegetable, and fits perfectly with the sweetness of carrots. For the less adventurous, this recipe also works well with our  Elias Cold Pressed Clover Honey which still provides a deep honey taste. 


Using Cold Pressed Honey instead of regular liquid honey allows for the honey to sink into the vegetables as it liquefies, leaving a more even coating of sweetness. Tip: For a real flavour infusion, try sprinkling the carrots with a teaspoon (or more) of cayenne before putting it into the oven!

 

The Ultimate Dinner Rolls with Honey Butter

What holiday meal would be complete without beautifully homemade dinner rolls? Answer? None.  

This recipe for the Ultimate Dinner Rolls will ensure your dinner is a delight! But the real star of this side is the delicious Honey Butter topping. Whipped to perfection, with the perfect balance of sweetness, saltiness and fat, you’re going to want to make at least 3x the amount in the recipe to store for later - trust us, it tends to disappear!

Our secret to make this recipe successful is to use Elias Creamed Honey or Elias Raw Creamed Honey - it allows the texture to stay light and fluffy without separating! A couple tips: try seasoning the honey butter mixture with a touch of granulated garlic, smoked paprika or cayenne! 


Salted Honey Pie

This Salted Honey Pie is literally our favorite pie EVER! The custard-based filling gets its amazing caramel flavor from brown sugar and honey. It’s absolutely delicious and so easy to make, it may become your new favorite too! 

The secret to making the perfect salted honey pie is to add Elias Honey Buckwheat Cold Pressed for a deep, malty, and rich flavor - perfect for a cozy night with friends and family.
