Let Us Introduce Ourselves

Let Us Introduce Ourselves

Hi! We are Elias Honey, nice to meet you!

After years of hobby farming and handing out free samples to friends and family members, we introduced our first, flagship Fireweed Honey to the Woodwards store in Prince George in 1972. If you don’t remember what Woodwards is, think Amazon – only, local. And more store-like. Actually, it’s not like Amazon at all, more like The Bay, with all the different products they sell under one roof.

Since then, we have had one goal and one goal only: To provide Canadians, coast to coast, with pure, high quality, premium honey, and honey products. True to form, your taste buds will be surprised by the deeply refreshing honey flavours that all of our Elias products offer. But, for a truly incredible tasting experience, compare the taste of our Gourmet honeys with each other, or with your regular honey – it won’t be long until you find a favourite indulgence!

While you’re here, let us teach you a little bit about Canadian honey and our company!

What is the Connection Between Canada and Honey?

We are a proud Canadian business who always wants to give back to fellow Canadians, and luckily for us, Canada makes it easy for us to do so!.

Did you know that Canada has one of the best microclimates and geography for harvesting honey? Our country has approximately 7,000 beekeepers and 600,000 bee colonies. And that’s only operating at 50% of potential capacity – huge, right?

6 provinces house 70% of Canada’s beekeepers, with the Golden Shield spanning fromAlberta, Saskatchewan, and Manitoba accounting for most of the production.

Our Household Honeys are mostly sourced from Alberta – we’re so happy to be able to partner with local beekeepers and farmers to support them and our economy.

But, it doesn’t end there!

Since B.C. has one of the best berry growing regions in the world, we work with small, independent, family owned beekeepers to source our delicious Gourmet Honeys – each one has a different flavour profile, and can be used to enhance both sweet and savoury flavours in your favourite foods.

What Types of Honey does Elias Honey Have?

Let’s explore our two families of honey in more detail!

Our Household has 4 products to choose from:

  1. Liquid honey
Our classic honey is light, sweet, delicate, fresh and can be used as an easy substitute for sugar or syrups!
  2. Raw honey
Our raw honey is the real deal! Unfiltered and unpasteurized to retain all of its natural, subtle aromatics and health benefits. This honey is thick, rich and sweet!
  3. Organic honey
Our organic honey is unpasteurized and slightly less sweet than our liquid honey, It has a delicate delicate flavour, is versatile, creamy and just melts in your mouth.
  4. Creamed honey
Whipped to perfection, our creamed honey is easy to spread and will not crystallize. Great for a picnic, or when you’re on the go!

We have 6 delicious options to choose from:

Our Gourmet line is a range of speciality honey produced from a variety of blossoms in the Pacific Northwest.

  1. Alfalfa-Clover Blossom
This honey is sweet, fresh, herbaceous and light with subtle notes of pear and lemon zest.
  2. Blackberry Blossom
Mellow and rich with notes of vanilla, berries and a hint of beeswax, our Blackberry Blossom is so tasty!
  3. Raspberry Blossom
The Raspberry Blossom honey is zesty bright citrusy with juicy berry notes and an aroma like a faintly scented rose garden.
  4. Buckwheat Blossom
This honey is hearty and sweet with layers of toffee and molasses flavour, reminiscent of baked goods.
  5. Blueberry Blossom
Rich and bright with bursts of lemon and berries, the blueberry Blossom is like a freshly baked blueberry muffin.
  6. Wildflower Blossom
Flowery, fresh and buttery smooth – our Wildflower Blossom has hints of mellow oak, produced in Canada’s wild north.

In summary, we are dedicated to providing pure, high-quality, premium honeys to all Canadians – from our home in Prince George, BC, all the way to Cape Spear, NL! Whatever your honey needs are, we got you covered.
